Startup of FSrealWX_PRO.exe fails

Hi,
Just downloaded FSrealWX pro. When I click on the application, I get the following message

C:\Program Files (x86)\FSrealWX_Pro\FSrealWX_Pro.exe

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command file sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

This is running on Windows 8. I've downloaded it several times only to have the same message pop up. Is this not compatible with Windows 8 or am I downloading a wrong version? Thanks.

Do you have Simconnect? (FSX)

Thank you for the quick reply. Is Simconnect an add-on? I know when I was testing FSrealWX lite, it automatically connected with Simconnect. In this case though, I can't even start the program to look at the parms. As soon as I click on the .exe it displays the message.

Do you use FSX or FS2004?

As a side note, I reinstalled FSrealWX PRO but this time chose the option which uses FSUIPC. When that installed, I was able to click on the .exe and it started, however, I couldn't connect with FSX. The interface option shows simconnect greyed out.

I reinstalled FSrealWX PRO (after deleting the first install and its folder) but chose Install FSrealWX for FSX. After it installs, I double click on the .exe and it fails with the message displaying the side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

Thanks for your help on this. I must be doing something wrong as I haven't found anyone else having this same problem.

1. Start FSrealWX with admin rights.
2. Update your FSX (Simconnect). Do you have the necessary version of SimConnect?

Do you need minimum Version 10.0.61259.0 of simconnrct.

hi i just installed FSrealWX and had the same issue when selecting the fsx option, i reinstalled using an unregistered version of FSUIPC but does that give full functionality?

im using the steam version of FSX so i would have thought my simconnect version would be the same as the acceleration version

Just had the same issue, been on it for 3 hours. Finally found a semi-fix

Uninstall everything that is related to FSrealWX, Start--->Control Panel--->Uninstall Program--->Click FS WX pro and uninstall.

Re install the FSUIPC version after everything has been removed.

Run as administrator
